Chic Young - Original 1945 "Blondie" Comic Strip Signed and Inscribed. Chic Young (1901-1973) was an American cartoonist who created the popular, long-running comic strip "Blondie." Created in 1930, it was the most popular comic strip in America; Young drew the strip personally until his eyesight began to fail in 1950. King Features Syndicate estimated that Young had a daily readership of 52 million. A four-panel, original comic strip, 6 x 18", of Blondie and Dagwood, signed in the fourth panel and Inscribed and Signed, "Greetings to Julia Ruman From Chic Young" in the lower border. With 1945 copyright of King Features Syndicate, Inc. In a red, period frame, 7 x 19¼".
