1888. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. An untoned cameo gem example. As befits the method of Proof production that was in vogue in 1888 at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin is uniformly sharp and gleaming, brilliant with beautiful cameo contrast between the fields and devices. The strike shows all the fine detail in the devices, including hair curls and the eagle’s breast detail. Furthermore, are no marks, spots, or other blemishes for the PR65 designation. Only 833 Proofs minted (PCGS # 87323) .
