1849-D. PCGS graded AU-53 CAC Approved. Lightly toned. Lustrous. Only 21,588 minted of which merely 300 examples are estimated to have survived. The obverse on the 1849-D presents an altogether different appearance than the Philadelphia Mint version; with the relief seeming to be higher, with the portrait quite bold, and bearing a very high rim. The reverse is of the Open Wreath style with delicate berries. Mintmark D slightly to left of bow knot. Under magnification, both obverse and reverse dies show evidence of rust (PCGS # 7507) .
Estimated Value $1,900 - 2,000.
The William H & Beuelaress K. Helem Collection.

Realized $2,875
