Wayne, John, Large signature on an invitation to meet John Wayne at John Wanamakers Department Store on July 7, 1976. The occasion was to celebrate John Wayne's 50 years in films and the opening of "The Shootist." The director of public relations for Wanamakers announces that he will interview Wayne at noon and present him with a celebration birthday cake. One empty place would be reserved at each table so that Mr. Wayne could visit all of the tables. Wayne signed this invitation at the behest of one of the guests. The invitation was part of a larger presention; adhesive tape across top affixes it to another page and cardboard with images of Wayne, easily detached from the invitation with the signature. Print on the invitation is somewhat faded but Wayne's signature in black marker is quite bold.
