Scott, Robert Falcon (1868-1912) British naval officer and explorer best known for the two expeditions he led to the Antarctic in 1901-1904 and 1910-1913. During the second of these, the Terra Nova Expedition, extreme weather, poor health, and a shortage of supplies led to the death of Scott and his party.

Very rare original doubleweight sepia Photograph Signed ("R Scott") in pencil in the lower blank margin, 7¾ x 4¾ inches (12 x 20 cm). Mounting traces on the verso. Identified on verso in another hand, "Capt. Scott of the South Pole Expedition." Overall very fine.
