Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. Ptolemy I, 323-285 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.53 g) minted at Alexandria with Ptolemy I as Satrap, c. 310-305 BC. Diademed head right of Alexander the Great wearing elephant skin. Reverse: Athena Alkidemos striding right, holding raised spear and shield; in right field, eagle standing right on thunderbolt; to left of eagle, monogram. Svoronos 170. Circular counterstamp in front of nose and light crescent test mark on cheek; graffiti ("AI") on reverse. Otherwise, Choice Very Fine.
