STS-6, 1983, FLOWN "Original EVA" Patch. Mounted on a multicolor NASA presentation certificate (framed to 16x20") that reads, in part: "In recognition of your outstanding contribution to extravehicular activity, the official Shuttle EVA patch is awarded to Thomas Moser (JSC Director of Engineering). The piece is signed in gold ink by "Shuttle's first EVA astronauts Story Musgrave and Don Peterson". This is an original patch with three stars. These stand for Ed White's 1st EVA (GRT-4), Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's 1st Lunar EVA (Apollo 11) and Pete Conrad and Joe Kerwin's Skylab "Rescue" EVA (Skylab 2). Subsequent patches were issued with five stars to recognize the EVAs performed on STS-6 by Story Musgrave and Don Peterson and by Jim Reilly and Mike Gernhardt's 1st ISS EVA (STS-104/ISS 7A). The original version of this unusual patch is seldom available today. The underside of the glass in the frame is dirty, but the presentation certificate and patch appear to be in excellent condition.
Estimated Value $350 - 500.

Realized $224
