Lot 1096

GT-5, 1965, "1964" Kennedy 50c Piece. This coin is encased in a lucite cylinder (2.25x1") that is engraved: "Gemini V - Aug.21, 1965" at top and "Cooper-Conrad" at the bottom. They flew some of these coins, but there is nothing to indicate that this coin is one of the flown ones. Given the consignor's relationship with the astronauts (he was a suit technician), the coin could well have been flown. The consignors COA says: "J.F.K. Half Dollar given to me by Gordon Cooper and Pete Conrad. Gemini V". An attractive piece of memorabilia.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.

Realized $319
