1797 C-2 R3 F15+. Clipped Planchet. Very attractive glossy chocolate brown. Close to VF20. The surfaces are smooth but there are traces of microscopic verdigris in protected areas around the date and lowest curl. The only notable mark is a small planchet fissure in the dentils left of the top of the cap. There is a minor planchet clip affecting the dentils right of the bust tip and at OF-A (as struck). The date and legends are bold. Removed from an NGC slab graded VF35 (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). Weight 88.8 grains.
