Lot 1577

1843-O. NGC graded AU-55. A pleasing example and untoned. The surface color is fresh, golden, with a connecting die crack through the tops of STATES on the reverse. Nicely struck for the date from this mint, certainly much finer than some in the later 1840s. Minor roughness from its days in circulation found on the portrait around Liberty's temple and in the fields on both sides. A small rim bruise (barely seen) occurs at the 13th star. Scarce in AU condition and above. Pop 62; 62 finer (PCGS # 8589) .
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,300.

Realized $2,530
