Lot 385

1849 N-29 R2 MS62. Glossy bluish steel brown with hints of iridescent rose tones on the obverse and faded mint red covering about 20% of the reverse. There is a small spot of darker toning on the rim at star 5 and a very light and barely visible rim bruise under star 1 and another at the bottom of the reverse. Sharp EDS+, die state b, with a couple very tiny rim cud breaks under star 13. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die polishing that gives this cent outstanding eye appeal. Tied for CC#2 behind a slightly finer example. DWH #2206.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
Ex Larry Whitlow (via Bob Grellman) 1/90-R. E. Naftzger, Jr. (via Bill Noyes) 1/10/03.
