Lot 1664

1886-S. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ. Housed in an Old Green Holder. Well struck and white. Intense but still satiny frost, the coin not even slightly toned which allows for the silver radiance to persist almost undiminished. In former days, such luster was enough to determine a coin's status. But today, just as important is the strike. And here, too, there is no deviation in the sharp relief seen, not even in the centers of the coin. Pop 253; 33 finer, 1 in 65+, 28 in 66, 4 in 67 (PCGS # 7170) .
Estimated Value $2,100 - 2,200.

Realized $2,415
