Original red cloth; original pictorial dust jacket with wear to edges and a one-inch tear at lower edge. Beautifully illustrated with 104 plates (64 in full color), and two original color lithographs created expressly for this edition. Former owner's bookplate on front pastedown; small label from Aberdeen Book Company on back pastedown.
Chagall created twelve stained glass windows, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel, for the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center Synagogue in Jerusalem. Jerusalem Windows illustrates and chronicles the creation of those famous windows.
