Lot 1246

1854 N-13 R4 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous light chocolate and steel brown with 15% of the mint red remaining on the obverse, 30% on the reverse. This cent is choice except for a small splash of dark carbon at ED in UNITED. M-LDS, die state b late. A few remnants of the vertical lines up from the dentils under the 54 remain visible at the dentil tips. In addition, a shallow low spot covers the neck and the area around the N in CENT (all caused by debris on the dies). A decent example of a variety that seldom comes in mint state. Our grade is MS60+, CC#5 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS in BN.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
