Kingdom of Thrace. Lysimachos, 323-281 BC. Gold Stater (8.20 g), Istros mint, struck 88-86 BC. Head right of the deified Alexander the Great. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; mintmark below throne, with trident below. SNG Cop 1194; Pick AMNG 482. Lustrous; Extremely Fine.

This particular obverse die seems to resemble Ariarathes of Cappadocia more than Alexander. Another example of this same obverse die can be found in our Pre-Long Beach Auction 2009, lot 1651.
Estimated Value $800 - 1,000.
