Sicily, Syracuse. Hieron II, 275-215 BC. Gold Drachm (4.24 g). Head left of Persephone wreathed with corn; behind, bukranion. Reverse: Galloping biga driven left by female charioteer holding goad. SNG ANS 865; SNG Cop 818; BMC 510. Extremely Fine.

This gold denomination was equivalent to 60 silver litrai, or a little less than four of the more often seen 16 litra pieces portraying Queen Philistis.
