Byzantine Empire. Justinian II, first reign, 685-695. follis or 40 nummi (9.54g), Constantinople, 1st officina, 685/6 (regnal year 1). Crowned bust facing, holding gl. cr. Rev. Large M between ANNO and I. Berk 752.A; cf. DOC 18, MIB 44, and Sear 1260, but no examples of year 1 noted. Very Fine and extremely rare, possibly only the second specimen known, overstruck.
