Augustus, 27 BC - AD 14. Gold Aureus (7.85 g) minted at Lugdunum. Laureate head right of Augustus. Reverse: Gaius and Lucius Caesars resting hands upon shields; above, spears, simpulum and lituus. RIC 206; BMC 515. An old scratch and a few scuffs in obverse fields and on edge. Attractive portrait; Choice Very Fine.
