Lot 95

1805 C-1 R2-. EF-40. Stemless Wreath. Attractive glossy olive brown with satiny mint frost showing through in protected areas. The only marks are several microscopic specks of silvery toning on the portrait. These silvery specks appear to be caused by impurities in the planchet, a phenomenon sometimes seen on the half cents of 1804-1806. Nicely struck with the reverse rotated about 20 degrees CW from a normal head-to-foot orientation.
Estimated Value $200 - 250.
Purchased from "Johnson" for 90 cents in the 1930's to early 40's.

Realized $661
