1875 Half Dollar Octagonal BG-933. PCGS graded MS-64 Rarity 5. Old green holder. Lovely golden toning with reflective surfaces. An impressive coin, though it does have some speckled effects in the toning. The crude workmanship on the portrait seems to show that the die engraver did little "finishing up" process on it. He left behind myriad fine raised die lines as though in a rush to get the die to the press operator in a timiely fashion. Pop 6; 1 finer in 65. (PCGS # 10791) .
