Lot 94

1820/19 N-3 R2 PCGS graded MS66RB. PCGS graded MS-66 Red & Brown. Small Overdate 20 over 19. Highly lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints, about two thirds of the original color remaining. A gem cent that is virtually perfect except for a tiny planchet lamination resting on the top of the 8 in the date and a microscopic tick in the field off the tip of the coronet. Fabulous eye appeal. MDS, remnants of the undertype 9 no longer visible inside the 0, but traces of the 9 remain visible on the outer edge of the 0 and the undertype 1 below the 2 is dull but obvious. Called MS65 choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21553. Bland says MS65+ and finest known. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
Ex Tom Wass-Emanuel Taylor 10/60.

Realized $17,825
