1818 N-5 R3 PCGS graded MS62BN. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. The obverse is glossy dark steel brown and chocolate with frosty light steel brown toning covering the protected areas. The reverse is mostly frosty tan and light steel brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints and hints of very faded mint color peeking through in a few places. Smooth surfaces with excellent eye appeal and only a few trivial contact marks. A tiny, dull nick in the center of the neck and a pair of thin, light horizontal nicks close under the first 8 in the date are the best identifying marks. MDS with clear die cracks through stars 1-3 nearly reaching star 4 plus another die crack connecting stars 10-12. Called AU50 and tied for bCC#2 in the Noyes and Bland census lists, Noyes photo #20898. Our grade is AU50. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
