1839 N-15 R6- PCGS graded MS62BN. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. Booby Head. Glossy light chocolate brown with frosty lighter golden brown in the protected areas where satiny mint luster remains. Only a few microscopic marks, including a faint horizontal hairline in the field over star 1 and a small spot of reddish chocolate toning low on the neck. Just a touch of friction on the highest points from mint state. EDS, the only die state known for the variety. Called MS60- and CC#1 by 15 points in the Bland census. Noyes says AU55 and finest known by a full 20 points, his photo #28830. Our grade is AU55. Clearly this piece is the undisputed finest known of the rarest variety of the year. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
