Lot 463

1839 N-10 R3 PCGS graded MS64BN. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Booby Head. Frosty light chocolate and steel brown with very subtle overtones of light bluish steel. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and the eye appeal is quite nice. A rather wide but very faint swipe of slightly darker steel toning extends from star 3 to the cheek where it fades away and there is a speck of carbon at the right top of the D in UNITED plus another in the dentils under the wreath. E-MDS, the reverse just starting to show microscopic die flowlines at the dentil tips. Called MS62 and CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21211. Bland says MS60 and CC#1. Our grade is MS60. PCGS Population 1; 3 finer, 1 in 65BN, 2 in 66BN.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex Abner Kreisberg 9/25/67:479.

Realized $1,840
