1836 N-6 R2 PCGS graded MS66BN. PCGS graded MS-66 Brown. Gobrecht Head. Choice lustrous light olive brown and bluish steel with 10% of the obverse covered with mint color and nearly a third of the reverse showing bright original mint red. The surfaces are satiny and nearly flawless, a nick-like planchet chip on the tip of the chin being the only defect. A choice, very attractive cent. Sharply struck LDS with a cud break hanging down from the dentils over star 8 and the final die crack through the F in OF clear. Called MS65 choice and CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21823. Bland says MS65 and CC#1 as well. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
