1831 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65RB. PCGS graded MS-65 Red & Brown. Large Letters Reverse. Frosty mint red fading to bluish steel brown and chocolate, at least two-thirds of the mint color remaining. Frosty bluish steel toning dominates the upper right quadrant of the obverse. A tiny spot of darker toning high on the neck under the earlobe and a shallow nick-like depression (as struck) in the field right of star 4 are the best identifying marks. LDS with die flowlines covering the obverse fields and die rust covering most of the wreath. Much of the reverse shows fine doubling from die bounce. Called MS65+ and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS63 and tied for CC#1 honors with the preceding lot, his photo #28736. Our grade is MS65. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
