Rome. Eastern Roman Empire Gold Amphora Earrings. A.D. 2nd-3rd Centuries. Composed of an openwork amphora with beaded wire ornamentation, these highly three-dimensional earrings have triple volute handles and pendants composed of pomegranates. Suspension loops have been added later, to further increase the wearability and beauty of these ancient masterworks. Two inches (50mm) in length. Weight: 7.0 grams.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 7,000.
