Lot 786

1805 Draped Bust Dime. 4 berries. PCGS graded MS-64. A splendid frosty mint example, untoned. An immaculate, blazing specimen almost a gem with the surfaces bursting with vivid wintry white originality over both sides. Not a drop of toning. In winding this up, we are pleased to see also a strike faithful to every detail from a decent if not quite full blow by the dies, with marvelously crisp detail found at outer design but yielding slightly in the centers due to some adjustment marks. This is the most plentiful issue of the still scarce draped bust, heraldic eagle bust dime. Pop 25; 18 finer with 11 in 65, 4 in 66, 3 in 67 (PCGS # 4477) .
Estimated Value $17,000 - 18,000.

Realized $23,000
