Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 48

Lot 493

1835 N-19 R5 Head of 1836. Good-6. Sharpness VG10 or slightly better but covered with myriad fine scratches mostly on the obverse, and there is a rim bruise at star 9. The surfaces are a bit uneven with patches of minor roughness showing through the glossy medium brown and chocolate toning. The date is relatively weak, as always in this marriage of a worn-out obverse die with a new reverse die, but it is easily readable and the legends are complete.
Estimated Value $400 - 600.

Unsold
