1798 S-172 R2. EF-40. Style II Hair with Small 8. Sharper by at least 5 points but there is a rim nick under the bust tip, a small rim bruise at the B in LIBERTY, another at the second A in AMERICA, and a small dig on the rim over the second S in STATES. The obverse fields also show a few very faint hairline scratches and there is a diagonal nick in the field over the hair ribbon. Lustrous chocolate brown with frosty flowline luster showing in the protected areas. M-LDS, Breen state V. Called AU50 net VF35 and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, his photo #27828. Nice eye appeal in spite of the minor contact marks.
