Lot 163

1804 C-6 R2. VG-8. Spiked Chin. Cleaned and retoned glossy steel and chocolate brown. The surfaces are decent for the grade but not perfectly smooth, and there are a few light contact marks on both sides. A tiny, barely visible rim bruise over the right side of the D in UNITED is a good identifying mark. A piece you wouldn't give a second look except for the die state, which is extremely rare. M-LDS, Manley state 10.8, Braig state 7.9. The "hole" in the cud over the M has been reduced to a small but clearly defined dimple in the cud.
Estimated Value $100 - 150.
Ex: Russ Butcher 6/07.

Realized $253
