1870-S $5 Liberty. NGC graded AU-55. Only 17,000 minted. A hint of light toning with a small mark in the left obverse field on a level with the lips. Moderate luster included in the attractive color on both sides. A respected rarity from the San Francisco Mint, with Very Fine being the norm grade seen. We think this offering of a lustrous About Uncirculated 55 will occasion attention from bidders near and far; we would hope that a knowledgeable buyer will come forth with a strong bid.
