Lot 4667

1844-D $5 Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. Very well struck with traces of semi reflective surfaces still evident about the outer devices. What is revealed here is primarily lustrous light to medium gold to yellow gold surfaces. They display some iridescence. The devices were sharply struck. The 1844-D is of medium rarity within the D-mint dates of the 1840s, but scarcer as it nears full Mint condition. A genuinely pleasing example of the date. Pop 39; 18 finer (PCGS # 8221) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
