Lot 3603

1804 C-13 R1 Plain 4 without Stems. Double Struck on Reverse Brockage. VG-10. Five points sharper with tiny specks of greenish verdigris scattered over both sides, strongest at the dentils over AME where the verdigris was partially removed leaving myriad fine pinscratches. Glossy chocolate and steel. The initial strike was an obverse brockage. The second strike placed the normal obverse over the incuse obverse impression, and much of the brockage obverse remains clearly visible. The reverse also show clear doubling with an offset between impressions of a millimeter or less. A neat double mint error that is clearly evident.
Estimated Value $400 - 600.

Realized $529
