Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (London, struck c. 1024-1030). North-787; S-1158. 1.01 grams. Cnut (the Great), 1016-1035 AD. Pointed Helmet type. Central circle, helmeted and draped bust left within, holding scepter, the bust extending to flan edge; + CNV: TREC around. Reverse: Central circle, short voided cross joined at center by two circles, inner pellet, and in each angle a broken annulet around inner pellet; + PINSIGE ON LVND:· around. Sharp full strike, but some doubling to obverse. Choice flan and metal, with luster. Pleasing, softly warm gray toning. NGC graded MS-63. Estimated Value $600 - 800. Ex Dr Jacob Y.
