Ethiopia, Kings of Aksum. Gold Unit. 1.59 grams. Anonymous, c. AD 450-500. Draped bust of king right, with headcloth surmounted by crown, flanked by wreath of wheat, with one ear held by king; "B" to right, debased Greek inscription around. Reverse: Draped bust of king right, wearing headcloth, flanked by wreath of wheat, with one ear held by king; debased Greek inscription around. Munro-Hay Type 81. Crisp strike, well centered. Residual luster, with reddish tone in recesses. Rare. NGC graded Brilliant Uncirculated.
