Woolly Mammoth Carving. This finely detailed 4 x 2.7 inch Woolly Mammoth figure was carved out of a gem-quality piece of 30,000-100,000 year old fossilized Mammoth ivory found in Siberia. The body of the Mammoth is slightly curved, much like the tusk it was carved from, and is a lovely cream color with hints of blue-green (due to iron) on its trunk and back. The two tusks are 1.5 inches long and pure white Mammoth ivory, which is quite rare. The figure has been professionally carved in a walking position with intricate hair detailing and comes positioned on a polished wood stand.
