150 Million Year Old Aquatic Reptile. Sinohydrosaurus lingyuanensisgen was a strange looking aquatic reptile with a very long neck that lived 150 million years ago in freshwater lakes in present day Liaoning Province, China. Sinohydrosaurus, which translates to "Chinese water dragon," may be an ancient relative of the fierce Komodo Dragon. This specimen is quite large at 19 inches long and mostly complete except for the end of its tail and two back feet. Most of the rest of the skeleton is present, with excellent detail for such a fragile fossil. The rib bones and even smaller gastralia rib bones are detailed, as well as the delicate skull. The 17 x 10 inch matrix of soft tuffaceous volcanic rock has been nicely smoothed and backed for stability.

Add $30.00 for domestic shipping.
Estimated Value $600 - 850.
