Maurer, Sidney Randolph (1926 -) American artist. Mixed media, 24" x 24", signed by Maurer. The main image is of the head of the Statue of Liberty with an American flag background in a 14¾" x 14¾" window. Maurer spent his earlier years designing album covers with Andy Warhol and serving as art director for musicians like Donovan before pursuing his passion for painting. This piece comes from his recent "America, America" series featuring themes of American history and patriotism. In recent years he has also done sets on prominent 20th century Jewish figures and a range of music, sports, and entertainment personalities.
