1878-S Trade Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Lightly toned with semi reflective surfaces. A lustrous Trade dollar with energetic semi-cartwheel, slightly prooflike luster whose pale color seems to want to motivate bidders to increase their bids as though by subtle hypnotism! Nicely struck with just outstanding detail at the head, barring a few weak stars. The stars, especially, can be softly struck on Trade dollars (even the rare Proofs). Pop 67; 35 finer, 17 in 65, 16 in 66, 1 in 67, 1 in 68 (PCGS # 7048) .
