King, Ernest J. & Harold R. Stark - Admirals, U.S. Navy. King (1878-1956) was Commander in Chief, United States Fleet and Chief of Naval Operations (COMINCH-CNO) during World War II. PS signed as Fleet Admiral, U. S. Navy and dated "September - 1945," 10" x 8". King was the second admiral to be promoted to five-star rank. Stark (1880-1972) was King's predecessor as CNO; he oversaw the build-up of the U.S. Navy and its participation in the Normandy invasion. PS ("HR Stark - Admiral US Navy"), n.p., n.d. Both very fine.
