Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 42

Lot 3350

1929 $5 Indian. MS-63. Very rare and popular key date. Mostly untoned. We feel especially privileged to have to fortune to offer not one, but two, rare 1929 half eagles in this auction. This is a brilliant gold specimen, a piece that can undoubtedly hold its own in terms of aesthetic appeal from the assigned grade. It has lovely brilliant surfaces overall with just the slightest field contacts on either side. The bright, glowing surfaces are free from copper spots, and there is there is every indication that the dies gave it a proper hard blow, imparting all of the design features. Well struck pieces are a must for the rarities buyer (except for the types of coins that tend to come weak in the first place). A wonderful opportunity for the half eagle collector (PCGS # 8533) .
Estimated Value $21,000 - 22,000.
