1825/3 Capped Bust Quarter Dollar. . B-2. NGC graded AU-50. Mostly untoned. Luster in the protected areas, the color is natural dove gray for the most part. There is a thin, faint hairline in the obverse field at left. Pop 7; 42 finer. (PCGS # 5338) .
On the 1825/3 B-2 overdate, the eighth star is low on the cap, a low final star and the high denomination identify the die pairing. The underdigit 3 is clear on this example. Star 8 is well behind the peak of Liberty's cap, and on the reverse the denomination 25 C. is high and away from the rim.
