1837 Liberty Seated Dime. PCGS graded Proof 64. PCGS #21726234. Well struck with nice toning and full mirror surfaces. A choice mirrored and boldly made specimen that has the following indicators seen on every genuine Proof: the fine die scratch on the reverse from the rim above the first T in STATES, and a faint die line through the ES and O in STATES OF (both of which are visible with magnification). Well struck on all devices as befits a well-made Proof striking somewhat obscured on the O in ONE and bow below. A few wispy hairlines are to be expected in the fields, but we are heartened by the smooth as glass mirror field. Despite the presence of two Proofs in this sale, an usual offering for the seated Liberty dime specialist. The holder is scuffed on the reverse.
The following population figures may include resubmission, so that the actual number available in Proof is unknown to us, but we suspect that collectors won't give it a second thought but will instead award this attractive Proof 64 specimen a strong bid.
