Lot 2580

1805 Draped Bust Dime. 4 berries. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. JR-2. Light golden toning on both sides; uncleaned attractive surfaces. The luster beams off of this handsome coin. Very popular "Type" variety. Die variety shows this as the 4 berries reverse (JR-1 having 5 berries in the branch).

After reviewing this coin carefully we believe it is undergraded by PCGS and should be sent back for a higher grade of one or two points. This coin is one of the finest we have handled.

A very choice specimen for the connoisseur of early silver issues, the Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle type was in use for only a short space of time between 1798 and 1807 before the design was retired (PCGS # 4477) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 22,000.
Ex: The Brentwood Park Estate.

Realized $34,500
