1795 C-5b R4 Thick Planchet. Good-5. A couple points sharper but there is an old but obvious pinscratch from the bottom of the cap to the rim at the Y in LIBERTY. Glossy chocolate and lighter brown with splashes of darker olive on the lower left quadrant of the obverse. The date is faint, as usual for the thick planchet version of the variety, but it is still readable with some effort. The legends are easily readable except where weakened by the severe die break slanting across the reverse. Struck on a cut-down spoiled large cent planchet that is obviously out-of-round. Weight 116.6 grains, which is on the high end of the weight range of 98-123 grains reported by Ron Manley.
