Guatemala. 8 Escudos, 1817-NG M. Fr-22; KM-71. Ferdinand VII. Bare laureate bust to right. Reverse: Crowned Hapsburg arms within chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Mintmark at lower left and assayer's initial at lower right separated by fleece. Highly reflective surfaces with lots of mint luster. Very Rare. Choice Very Fine.

The Guatemala mint issue colonial doubloons sporadically beginning in 1733 and ending in 1817. This is the final coin in the series, as no further gold was struck until after the independence of Central America.
