Vatican. Ducat, ND. Fr-2; CNI XV, pl. X. 3.31 grams. 21.06 mm. The Roman Senate, 1350-1439. Minted aurthorized by Popes, by city authorities. Obv: Usual venetian image. Type II. Leg: S. PETRVS: N//A//S/ ATOR.VRBIS. Reverse: Christ standing within stars. Leg: .ROMA. CAPVT. - .MVRDI.SPQ.R. NGC graded MS-62.

This coin is similar to the Venetian ducats. The difference is that on the Venetian coins, the Doge is kneeling before St. Mark. Here, a senator is kneeling before St. Peter.
