Sicily. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. EL 12-1/2 Litrae (1.83 g), struck 310-305 BC. Laureate head of Apollo left. Reverse: Four-string kithara; ethnic flanking. Cf. G. Jenkins, "Electrum Coinage at Syracuse," in FS Robinson, Group A (dies g/h); SNG ANS 618 (same dies); SNG Cop. 708; Jameson 847. Crisp, and cleanly struck. A pretty little gold piece. Extremely Fine plus.
