1890 $20 Liberty. Details of Proof 63. Brilliant Proof. We suspect the mirror surfaces have been enhanced. Only 55 Proofs struck for this low mintage date. Conceivably, fewer than half of the those examples survive today, with a total population certainly under 20. This still attractive Proof 63 is an amazing bit of sharp design, and impressive with aesthetic appeal after all these years. At first glance, no one will suspect that anything is wrong. The devices on both sides seem to be frosted with hardly a blemish to be seen, although the cheek has a few faint hairlines. The fields still sparkle in their mirrors. Worth examining (PCGS # 9135) .
